I was involved in an accident while driving a hired car a year ago, and filed a claim under the rental company's insurance.

My details were under the driver's section while the company was the actual policy holder and claimant.

If I'm applying for an insurance now, do I have to declare this under the "filed any claims within the past 3/5 years" question since strictly speaking I have not personally claimed from any insurance company before? Thanks

i guess it means you won't have to mention it. it wasn't your claim.
